Exploring Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the course of spanish 102 completing the VHL homework, VHL textbook, zoom calls and break out rooms has helped me understand the spanish culture. My teacher has us do a lot of interactions among one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interaction helped because it helped me understand the conjugations! I have learned the past tense, present tense and even future tense. I have also completed Competencia Cultural and Lecturas which helped with the understanding of listening and reading about certain topics and understanding how it is written! I realized the pronunciation of words is really important because it varies in every spanish culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engaging in Communities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of my favorite ways to engage in communities is supporting family owned restaurants in my hometown. My favorite thing is to go different spanish restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpersonal Communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the span of my summer course I have completed my talk abroad with my partner Daniela! I have completed an interview with my teacher! Also, I have done several discussion boards where I have responded to another classmate!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My topic during my TalkAbroad was about clothing and places! We started off introducing ourselves! As we went on with the discussion we talked about our favorite stores, what stores are in our malls, discussed if we like to shop online or in person, and etc. It was really interesting especially knowing we had a lot in common. During my teacher interview over zoom, it was really simple and quick. In the discussion boards we have talked about our daily schedules, clothings we like, favorite meals, and etc. I have a lot more confident when writing and feel more confident when speaking. These assignments have helped with the pronunciation of my words! The thing that I would change next time is meeting with my partner beforehand. Everything else I feel good because I write everything out on paper then complete the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentational Speaking<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the course of spanish 102, i have completed a few activities where we had to present in front of the class! We went into breakout rooms and completed a dialogue about our child having bad grades! Also we completed an assignment where we created a dinner for our significant other! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenging thing with the dialogue was figuring out what you and your partner would say, and the pronunciation. As far as completing the dinner menu was fairly easy because you just had to put the vocabulary together! I excel in becoming a better writer and creating sentences that make sense! Next time, I would makes sure I focus on the vocabulary so I can get straight into the assignment! During my dialogue I would say out loud with my partner what we want to discuss then write it down! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentational Writing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have completed two composici\u00f3n! The first one was a travel brochure! The second one discussed my original daily routine verses my living routine living on an island! Both of my composici\u00f3n were really successful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first assignment it was harder to put sentences together but as i completed my second one it was way easier. I realized writing all my vocabulary out on a piece of paper made it easier so that I could put it all together. Therefore, from now on I will write all my vocabulary needed for my topic and then put it all together!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpretive Listening<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The listening task I have completed is my Competencia Cultural! I have completed four different ones! This Competencia Cultural included a variety of multiple choice questions and a couple written responses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Competencia Cultural can be challenging for me because they speak really fast, but I listen to them multiple time to make sure I don’t miss anything. In the recording it discusses the different types of places around the world, and what it is popular for! The most interesting things are all the different buildings and sites that are popular! I have grown with this activity by listening to less and less! Also, finding the question one by one helps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpretive Reading<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This semester I have completed four different Lecturas! Each lectura consist of different things such as daily schedules, restaurants, food, and etc. The lecturas consist of different multiple choice and short response questions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The challenging things was understanding the paragraphs because it consisted a lot of information that isn’t needed. I overcame it by reading the questions first then reading the paragraphs. The most interesting was the different topics and what it consist of! The takeaway from reading was finding all the answers. I have grown by going through the assignment faster and faster each time, and also understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
