There are hundreds upon thousands of cybersecurity threats to countries all over the world. In 2020, Due to the COVID-19 outbreak an increase in sophisticated phishing email schemes by cybercriminals has seen a huge uptick. The United States is one of the top countries that receives cybersecurity threats daily, as well as China. I will be comparing these two countries and what similar and different hazards they face in the world of cybersecurity.
The U.S. is the number one country in cyber-crime activity. This includes, hacking, leaking of data, phishing, ransomware, and inside threats. Phishing attacks are targeted primarily in the United States. Mainly striking businesses, phishing is severely damaging to cybersecurity in America. Digital piracy is also number one in the country, violating federal copyright laws, and is a serious offense and source of damage in the cyber world. Having the largest and powerful military in the world comes with a price. Cybersecurity threats such as international terrorism alarms the CISA and federal government. I suppose the saying “U.S. is number one!” is true in the realm of cybersecurity threats as well.
China is right behind the U.S., coming in as the second country with the most threats in cybersecurity. Facing the same threats as America in hacking, data leakage, phishing, ransomware, and inside threats; China performs fraudulent activity, creating risky violations in cybersecurity. Bots are menacing to cybersecurity. They are a nuisance and have the ability to seem like a real person. When this happens, an unsuspecting user can give their information out compromising that person’s credential goods.
The United States and China both share cybersecurity threats of malware, cybercrime, and spam emails. These countries are consistently targeted every second of the day. Therefore, it is important to understand what threats different countries face and how to counteract them.
