My major relates to cybersecurity technology because it actually is cybersecurity. I began to take an interest in this field over winter break and decided to pursue this as my major and future career. I was introduced to an Old Dominion University Alumnae who piqued my interest in this fast-growing field. This particular person holds a Doctorate in cybersecurity and is employed at Boeing as the Head of Encryption. He has been training and mentoring me in the cybersecurity field to get hands-on experience.

By continuing to work with Dr. Walker while taking my classes at Old Dominion University, I believe these elements will help me better comprehend the world of cybersecurity and the different aspects of it. As the world of technology continues to evolve, there will always be a need for people to monitor and help prevent horrible things from occurring. I am looking forward to helping make the internet a safer place for people to explore, post, and do transactions without the fear of having their information or account stolen from them.

I am looking forward to this course because it will get my feet wet in the cybersecurity world and increase my knowledge of my major. I am ecstatic about all that cybersecurity has to offer. Helping to protect individuals, organizations and businesses from being hacked is my goal.
