Computers are an amazing advancement in our society. People can communicate with others across the world, search for anything, and buy products all through their PC. The computer has made the world safer by easily storing information, protecting information, and communicating with others. However, computers have also made the world less safe by online hackers, predators, and scammers.

It can be difficult to store important documents in physical folders because they will eventually get damaged or misplaced. Computers are a simple and fast way to store information. The user can store information on a USB drive or as a file on the desktop. The ways to store data are versatile so the user can accommodate how they store their information. Protecting information on computers is extremely vital. Luckily there are multiple applications that protect the user’s data: multi-factor authentication, encryption, fingerprint identity, and facial recognition to name a few. Computers protect personal information and financial information so it is accessible and safe.

In this day and age communication is everything. Computers allow for safe and speedy access to virtually talk to anyone across the globe. Communication through computers is a secure way to speak to anyone at any time, while still maintaining social distancing and capacity for Covid-19 restrictions.

Although there are many ways that computers have made the world a safer place, it has also made the internet world a less safe place. Online hackers and scammers pose a threat to the user and their computers by potentially gaining unauthorized access to their device, location, network, and personal and financial information.

Predators, as a whole, have risen significantly since hackers use computers to mainly target young children and women. They are extremely dangerous as they pretend to be someone they are not to use the victim for information, money, or inappropriate illegal actions.

At the end of the day, it is up to the users to decide if we want computers to create a safe or unsafe environment. Technology has made our lives easier by allowing an instant connection to the outside world, but make sure you have the proper precautions in place to protect yourself and your information.
