The Chesapeake Homeless Resource Center is a community-based organization that works hard to assist people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The facility provides crucial help to those in need through a range of programs and services, including shelter, meals, job training, and more. Working at the Chesapeake Homeless Resource Center helps people in a variety of ways, including job training and linking placement programs. These programs teach people the skills and experience they need to find work and better their financial circumstances. The center empowers individuals to take charge of their money and strive toward a more secure future by assisting them in finding and maintaining steady employment. While assisting at the shelter, I was able to directly assist a number of people by educating them on placement programs that help them achieve financial stability. A collaborative effort was made with the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS). Many people were unaware of the benefits of DARS, which included job placement, resume writing, free transportation to their jobs, and much more. I was able to connect individuals with DARS in order to improve their financial capability, stability, and assets.
