Leadership opportunities that I engaged in through the MPH program:
- Mentor to students interning at the Center for Global Health allowed me to expand my communication skills and teaching style while assisting the interns in completing the goals required for their internship experience. This experience increased my ability to conduct group coursework in the MPH program and encourage discussion among group members.
- The vice-President of the Public Health Student Organization (PHSA) allowed me to network with other public health professionals through membership in professional public health organizations, which allowed me to improve my professional writing and conversation skills. These skills impacted my learning in the MPH program by enhancing my academic writing.
- Team leader for Interprofessional Experience during the Fall 2020 semester allowed me to organize team members, assign work roles, develop working timeframes, and follow up with team members for updates. This experience impacted my learning in the MPH program by increasing my ability to plan for assignments and projects.
