When I asked Jonathan Goldstein, __, what he would change within his organization he quickly stated that the suite owners don’t get enough face to face time with the players. He admitted that there are retired players who go around the suites on occasion and that there is a player signing next week, but he said that these were really the extent of the rewards granted to Wizards’ suite owners and that there was hardly any face to face time with current players for the owners of the suites. He felt that this wasn’t an adequate system, so we decided to create an event to correct this.
In our initial discussion about this event, Jonathan suggested that injured players from the team go around the boxes and visit during games. This is a great idea, but it did not really fit the description of what we were looking for in our class, but in our discussions, we stumbled upon our jackpot.
In a lot of instances, the owners of these suites are companies that use them for business purposes. Another thing that is common with suites is for the owners of the suites bring their kids to the game, which is the audience that we felt we could target with our event.

Our event is to invite the owners of the suites to bring their kids to Capital One Arena to play basketball on the Wizards’ court with some of the players on the team. We decided on this event because it is a proper reward system for the suite owners as their children will be overjoyed and they will get to meet the players in a unique setting. Another benefit of this event would be the increase in demand for suites as word will spread about something so special as a bonus of being a premium fan.
