Based on what I’ve seen of the NICE Framework, I believe the areas of operating and maintaining, safeguarding and defending. Eventually, securely provision are the ones that spark my interest the most. Because I can get my hands filthy and be “in the trenches” while working in those regions, as my father frequently refers to such environments. The next option, collect and operate, appears attractive because it requires me to perform activities to gather evidence on criminal or foreign intelligence entities. Collect and operate also mitigate possible or real-time threats, protect against espionage or insider threats, foreign sabotage, international terrorist activities, or support other intelligence activities. On the other hand, analyzing, monitoring, and regulating do not strike me as exciting study topics. Finally, investigation; this area becomes interesting because I may become a digital forensic investigator who identifies the source and consequences of cyberattacks. Attacks must be contained and remedied. The following are the least appealing NICE framework areas in which I will not work: Analyzing does not appear to be interesting; I am not motivated to supervise and control; or my degree of confidence in that area is likely insufficient to do the task correctly.
