Cyber Technology

  1. We as a society are so dependent on technology that there’s no way that it will ever go away. Technology has changed so many aspects of life, for example criminal justice, the fashion industry, the way we communicate and more. Technology is also used at schools and workplaces at all times and even more now that we are in a pandemic. The only connection we have to others is through our phones. Technology is also used to order food, and have it delivered to you, which minimizes contact with others. Technology is growing at a very fast rate, making it harder for us to keep up with. New ideas and innovations are happening to make technology safer and better everyday. This type of rapid growth makes it hard for even the government to keep up with cybercrimes. If your not in the field of cybersecurity or haven’t taken a cybersecurity class you probably lack knowledge in cyberlaws. The actual problem is that the world does not understand technology to the full extent and does not know what technology is really capable of.
  2. Cyber technologies impact interactions between offenders and victims because sometimes its anonymous and sometimes you know exactly who that person is, communicated through a message. Other ways that cybertechnologies grant you interactions with others is through social media where a lot of crimes happen. For example, some interactions with cyber criminals are cyberstalking, cyber harassment, and Cyber attacks in general. Cyberstalking is the repeated pursuit of an individual using electronic or internet capable devices. Cyberstalking is a crime that creates a sense of fear, terror, intimidation, stress or anxiety to the victim by electronic communication between the offender and victim. Cyber harassment is when someone engages in an act or behavior that torments, annoys, offends, terrorizes or threatens an individual. The offenders do this via email, instant messages, or other means of interactions. Technology is basically a method of delivering crime across the internet.
