This summer, Old Dominion University and the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (COVA CCI) participated in the 2025 Maritime IT Summit, which took place at the Hilton the Main in Norfolk.

The event was an incredible opportunity to engage with professionals in the cybersecurity and defense sectors, network with possible employers and/or mentors, and learn about real-world applications of classroom lectures, get involved, and build your resume.

ODU and COVA CCI hosted a table during the summit and I had the pleasure and responsibility of organizing our table and finding friends/volunteers including faculty members from the School of Cybersecurity to talk and sit at the table with me to some of the companies such as Dell Technologies and Google Security and answer any question they may have had about our Cybersecurity program at ODU and promote it.
