Evaluation

  • I feel that all of my professional goals that I set were all fulfilled by the end of my internship. I accomplished these goals by setting them at my start of my internship, figuring out how I was going to accomplish them and then speaking to the right resources or obtaining the right resources to by successful in the goals.
  •  I feel that some aspects of my internship were beneficial to me, while some parts of it were not. The beneficial parts include that I was able to really work on my communication skills and get better at speaking in front of people. I also learned and worked more independently in the sense of learning the ways of the organization and their website. Even though I did have guidance and help I still felt I did a lot on my own and learned along the way.
  • As for another BSHS student, this internship will be beneficial in the sense that you get to work on your communication skills at community fairs and also from speaking on the phone with people. Also, learning and using your computer skills.
  • Overall, I did enjoy my time with the Alzheimer’s Association and working with those in the office, but it may just have been not what I expected. My preceptor was really present in my time there majority of the time, but also sometimes was not. She always asked if I was moving along with my projects and did some check-ins, but in a sense, I felt as if it could have been just a bit more. Not at all am I saying that I did not learn anything with the Alzheimer’s Association because I did and am grateful for the experience, but as a health service administration major, I would’ve wanted an internship geared more specifically to that.
