Study habits <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am doing good but not as good as I feel like I should be. I am not doing the best at keeping up with assignments but I realized that I do better when writing things down so I have something tangible to look at. I’d also say the class I need the most assistance with is my human nature class because I’ve noticed that I don’t typically know what I am supposed to be writing. Additionally, I have started going to the library more often. I\u2019ve realized I work better when I am secluded from everyone and everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transition to college<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I expected myself to do extremely well, I thought I was going to have really good discipline and I wasn’t going to get distracted by outside factors but that was not the case.\u00a0These expectations were partially correct. This is because I am currently not failing any of my classes so I am managing them in a way, just not productively or beneficially. College is different from how I expected it because I am more vulnerable to saying yes to everything and just pushing schoolwork out of the way than I thought I was.\u00a0I am surprised about how much college and high school differ.\u00a0I’d say the toughest challenge for me with moving to college is having to manage everything. I don’t have my parents here to manage everything I’m supposed to be doing. I took that for granted when living at home. The easiest challenge was figuring out what I would need to maintain my dorm. Like toiletries, cleaning supplies, and things like that.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel like everything that\u2019s been mentioned about nursing in this class, I\u2019ve had prior knowledge about it. My feelings about my major have shifted a bit since we went to visit nuclear medicine, it sparked an interest. Ever since then, I\u2019ve been thinking about whether I want to do that or not.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecting to Campus <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A problem that I encountered this semester was that I didn\u2019t have enough money to print my worksheets which are needed for my chem lab but the TRiO program offers free printing which helped me a lot.\u00a0A community that helped me a lot this semester was the TRiO program, when I first heard about it I didn\u2019t think much and wasn\u2019t going to join. Then I got an email from Ms. Harmon asking if I wanted to schedule an intake, I thought why not, I ended up setting up a time for my intake and I do not regret it one bit. All the staff there is welcoming and whenever I feel lost in any sort of way I know they\u2019ll be there to help.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
