For example, when I go out instead of doing homework, that’s on me because I know my responsibilities and what I should and shouldn’t do. I expected everything to go smoothly in my first semester but that was not the case, there were many bumps in the road. I took the same approach I had in high school and that wasn’t going to help me succeed in college. I just now know how I should approach the spring semester. Something I wish I had known or done at the beginning of the semester is I wish I would have taken more classes my fall semester, I am currently taking the bare minimum because that’s what I was told to take and if I knew I should’ve or could’ve taken more then I would’ve.

Study habits

I’d say I spent more time studying at the beginning of the semester, I was on it. Towards the middle, I started to slack, and then towards the end of the semester, I realized I was slacking and tried to pick up the pace. My study habits changed because I used to study in my dorm but I realized that if I went somewhere else like the library I’d get more work done because it’s easier for me to stay focused. I’d say the resource that impacted me the most while being in college is the trio program. A study habit or technique I’m taking with me to the next semester is, although I don’t know if this is considered a study habit, I’m going to do my homework as soon as it’s assigned instead of waiting because I have “time”.

Health professions learning community

I think these courses are connected in a way that they’re all considered to be difficult and they’re all needed for certain majors, so putting all the same students together who share similar interests and goals gives them a leg up with studying, making friends and other things of that nature.

Parallel plan

Some other majors that sound interesting are Nuclear medicine and medical laboratory science. I think It is beneficial to have a parallel plan because you never know what’s going to happen so having a backup plan is good for if something goes wrong or gets shifted you know you have something to fall back on. Learning about these other majors could help my intended major because they give me more insight into different professions that I could be working alongside.

My first semester The way I’ve grown this semester is I’ve taken accountability for my actions instead of pinning them on other things.
