Parallel Major
a. Criminal Justice
b. When looking at the list of majors offered at Old Dominion University, I found very few that I might be interested in. The only majors that caught my eye were criminal justice and international studies. I picked criminal justice because I have always been interested in subjects relating to criminal justice.
c. Old Dominion University students can choose to get a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science in the criminal justice major.
d. The main career people with criminal justice majors tend to go to is law enforcement. A police officer makes on average $60,000 a year. Police offers main goal is to protect their community. Even if I may not be fully confident about what career I would like to have, I know for sure that I want to make a difference, and being a law enforcement officer offers the opportunity to make a difference.

i. I am required to take additional classes including various “language and culture” and “human behavior” classes.
ii. I could learn more about this area of study by conversing with others in this area of study and people with careers from this major.
iii. Jessica Huffman is the chief departmental advisor.
