The Impact of AI on Cybercrime
Introduction
Artificial intelligence has risen as a world-changing technology. It has created a massive influence on all of society, one of the areas being cybercrime. Projections indicate that the AI market could rise to 407 billion by 2027 (Haan, 2023). When businesses are integrating cybercrime into their everyday operations, they are increasing the risks and threats that are connected to artificial intelligence.
The Connection of the Terms
The study of artificial intelligence and cybercrime touches on many different aspects of social sciences. This could include criminology, psychology, and sociology. Criminology focuses on analyzing the upcoming criminal threats through artificial intelligence that may emerge. It offers guidance and insight on ways to prevent such threats from making an impact. When it comes to psychology is more on the mind and the motive behind such threats, and how individuals see artificial intelligence technologies. Sociology is focused on the social end of artificial intelligence, and how it affects human behavior, relationships, and communication.
Methodology
The methods that were approached during this study were a mix. They combined quantitative data analysis with qualitative insights that they acquired during interviews. AI is very complex, so this approach was an excellent way to obtain the information that they needed. On the qualitative end, the data that was collected included statistics on cybercrime incidents that were related to artificial intelligence. The quantitative analysis involved techniques to identify trends between artificial intelligence technology and cybercrime rates.
Contributions to Society
The research contributes significantly to learning about artificial intelligence and cybercrime and how they correlate with each other. By focusing on the dynamics of threats facilitated by AI and the need for improved cybersecurity, the study emphasizes the importance of efforts among researchers, educators, cybersecurity professionals, and even legislative bodies.
Conclusion
The relationship between artificial intelligence and cybercrime is a complex problem, and it requires an extensive amount of research, social impact, and people who aren’t as represented as others. This article is a great tool for shaping future intelligence and possible legislative efforts to protect the digital world, where artificial intelligence is becoming more prominent.
