Down below are the images of 2 of my posts to the Forum de Discussion which I post to once a week in the CMU program. It’s a great way to interact with other students in the class who have also posted there and have the professor correct any mistakes I make before the test. It’s a great tool to understand where I’m at based on what we’ve learned in the current week. I find the best use to be the Mme. Facer correcting my mistakes so I won’t do the same on the test. I’ve decided to include both my very first post of this semester and the very last to gauge how far I’ve come along.

This is the first post I made in the very first Forum de Discussion of this semester spring 2024. This is French 102, so I already had some skills built up from French 101, but it’s clear that I haven’t gotten much farther than describing simple things about myself and my family in the present tense.

This is the last forum post I’ve made as of now spring 2024, a little over 2 months after the very first Forum de Discussion of the semester. For this discussion, the class was given a set of questions in French, which we then had to post our answers. What I like about this post is that it really shows how much my French abilities have increased. At the beginning of the semester, I was mostly only able to speak in the present tense, but for this semester in French 102, we focused much more on the past and future tenses. Question 2 here focused on the past tense, what did my family do on the last vacation? So my response had to be something in the past tense indicated by the past tense conjugations on the verbs. Question 3 focused on the future tense, where would I like my next vacation? Since question 1 was present tense, it means I am now able to speak in all 3 tenses in the same post, which I see as a great achievement.
