- Why is it important to study a world language?
It’s important to study a world language because it gives valuable skills that will be needed throughout life. It also raises an individuals awareness of the world around them and gives a wider perspective on the world. It’s so easy to have a one sided view of everything, everyone has a bias to their perspective, and I’m not saying to disregard this, but it is important to understand others’.
2. Why are you studying French?
Believe it or not, the main reason I’m studying French is because I randomly chose it over other options. I almost chose Russian, but my mom said that it would be too hard, which I eventually agreed. Whenever I think of a language I envision the physical setting, when I think of French, I think of Paris which sounded cooler than any other language. I’d say I’ve found a very interesting language, French is spread all across the world from Quebec to France to even Morocco, so I get a wide range of perspectives.
