I created this meme with the inspiration of this season (fall/winter), and how hard our immune systems work to fight the spread of illnesses this time of year. When I think of bacteria-fighting cells I immediately think of T-cells; however, there are plenty of other cells that help fight your internal battles. The type of pathogen could range from a bacteria, parasite, virus, or any foreign body that the immune system deems as dangerous and needs terminated immediately. Some other pathogen-fighting cells includes phagocytes, B-cells, neutrophils, and macrophages which all play a large role in the immune system, and play equally important roles to keep you healthy. Overall, my interest in cell biology centres mostly around the immune system, and by connecting the fictional movie character of Austin Powers as the role of a foreign pathogen and Mini Me as a T-Cell, I am able to portray the role of a T-cell and how (like Dr. Evil) there are other types of cells that will attack bacteria (Austin Powers).
