One of the biggest takeaways from this class, in my experience, is acknowledging the way cells communicate on a much deeper level. For instance, before taking this course, I understood surface-level how cells interacted via the courses Biology 1 and Biology 2; however, I now understand how different cells interact, work together, and even work against each other sometimes in order to protect each other and the body. Prior to taking this course, I took Anatomy and Physiology 1, and one of my favorite things I learned is that there are specialized cells that cause contractions in muscles and allow us to move. Upon taking the Cellular Biology course, I have a much better understand about the cells that cause this and other cells that are involved or have an effect on the movement. My interest in school revolves around biology within the human body which leads me to taking courses such as chemistry, anatomy and physiology, and higher levels of biology. As a student, this course has helped me to understand cells on a textbook/research level and will apply to my future studies in graduate school as I continue exploring science within the human body.
