I choose this video because it highlighted the benefits of the electron transport chain in a simple, yet goofy manner. Mitochondria always gets to be called the powerhouse of the cell; however, ATP synthase walked so that the mitochondria can run. The electron transport chain occurs within the mitochondria to aid in ATP production, it has four complexes that help to move electrons to the other side of the electron transport chain. Complex 1 transfers an electron from NADH to ubiquinone then complex 3 takes the electron from ubiquinone to cytochrome c and creates 4 H protons per pair. After that, complex 2 obtains electrons from succinate to FAD then to ubiquinone without transporting H protons. Finally, complex 4 catalyzes the transfer of electrons to oxygen and transports the H protons across the inner membrane then those H protons go through ATP synthase to produce ATP for the cell.
