The e-portfolio forced me to learn how to navigate an online format – and is going to be useful for me when I try to sell myself on the market, for Job purposes. It will be great to show them my card, which would include my “website” which would direct them to all of my significant projects, my resume and many other accolades which I can post in the future, maybe some of my military awards also.

Additionally, the scientific literacy forced me to digest the difficult to read scientific literature. I am getting used to reading chemistry journals as I have just started to conduct chemistry research with Dr. Lambert, but also I am now learning how to take each sentence in stride. With biological literature, every sentence needs to be elaborated on much like chemistry literature, but there are a lot more code-words that I’m unfamiliar with in biology. Like C/O ARDI and other crazy code-words, but if I ask questions and spend time with each section, it is possible to decipher them. Overall, useful projects!

Thanks Dr. Steel, I hope to see you in my future biology projects and future research!

The class was more difficult than it needed to be, as it was an asynchronous class, however the attachment to an e-portfolio and the scientific literacy project were very useful.
