Network & Server Configuration
and Administration

This course allows students to get some hands-on experience doing just that, setting up a (virtual) network, configuring all of the necessary settings, and learning what needs to be done to maintain it. One of the most memorable projects was the final group project, which required our small group to work together to connect the lab computers using a network and configure it like it was a real network. It involved setting up the domain controllers, a shared storage pool, and creating users and their roles which gave them permissions.

This course taught me quite a few skills and gave me a chance to practice them at the same time. Each assignment taught me a new skill and gave me a chance to use it. They taught me how to connect a printer to a domain, set up the domain controller, create a virtual machine, and many others. All of the skills it taught will allow me to do the same in the future or at the very least use the knowledge to help me diagnose problems.
