In this data breach letter, a company got hacked and immediately notified the customer about this in hopes to notify the person so they can check their account before they are targeted next. Immediately, this comes off as relatable to functionalism due to the fact that the company notified the person in concern with how this breach could influence the customers. In contrast, another social theory could be Conflict Theory, as based on the reasoning of the company, they only sent out those emails in order to safe face to reduce their chances of getting a lawsuit for poor security practices.
