Writing Reflection Three –
Walking into this class on the first day I was nervous and on edge about how exactly this class would be structured. Most times people see english courses as bring and typically long. I was afraid to have a professor who wasn’t passionate about her job and gave out assignments that served no purpose. I was shocked to see that this course was neatly organized and composed in a way to help all students passes. The syllabus gave us all the information we needed and created an easy path for students to follow during the semester. Being told that we were required to create a website made me a little uneasy because when you hear create a website you immediately think about how difficult that could be.
Not only has this website will help me keep track of my progress in this course but it has given me a good outlet to use for the rest of my college career. Thus website could be used as a resume, grade progression, a safe place to keep my work and much more. The portfolio has been a good way to keep up with all my assignments not only in this course but my other courses as well. Writing these essays have been a breeze with the help of writing tutors and my professors lessons. Personally, I have seen my grammar and attention to detail grow rapidly.
It is hard to break bad writing habits when you are so used to writing a certain way. This class taught me that in order to improve you must break the old habits and be willing to learn new ones. That’s why I believe I genuinely enjoyed the eportfolio as it gave me a new outlet to post my writing and other assignments and gave me a way to grow as a writer. The required textbook for this course has also helped with minor things that I needed help with along the way.
Sometimes it’s difficult trying to come up with new and better ways to write an essay to prove that you have grown as a writer but overtime I have realized that everytime you start a new assay your growing regardless. Using the eportfolio has helped with being able to look back at my writing and see where I did well and where I went wrong. Overall I’m thankful that I was placed in this course as it has not only taught me many things but prepared me for all other english courses in the future.
