Four majors that relate to Cybersecurity in a multitude of ways consists of Criminology, Computer Engineering, Geography, as well as Graphic Design. To start off, Criminology is a program that is somewhat based around the thought process of those who break the law. Knowing, defending, and having a feel for what the laws protect is essentially cybersecurity at its purest essence, only translated into cyberspace. The approach of limiting an attack that breaks social law or cyber law before it happens is what connect the two with strength. The next association to Cybersecurity that can be made is Computer Engineering. Through the above average understanding of technical principles, software and hardware, as well as the ability to navigate advanced digital circuits provides Computer Engineering an older sibling-like relationship to Cybersecurity. This reference to an older sibling is on account of the basis that the Computer Engineering program develops on that can be translated into a smaller scope of cybersecurity. The third major that can relate to Cybersecurity is Geography. While getting to know the ins and outs of cyberspace is a tool under the belt of a cybersecurity major, a geography major also has to similarly get the lay of the land by getting to know the certain land features and navigational tools to how and why these features are present. Another relationship these two majors have is the relay of certain spacial data that has to be reviewed and revised, but in cybersecurity its done with a defense approach rather than observation. The last of the four majors is Graphic Design and its relationship has to do with the digital delivery and conceptual problem solving. As a Cyber security major, developing skills in the field of digital communication, not necessarily with another human but with the cyberspace itself, is essential for identification of a problem. Once that problem has been highlighted it may take the application of a few concepts to successfully solve the problem at hand. This is similar to the Graphic Design layout as you develop communications skills as well and usually majority of the communicative output is expressed onto a physical plane; much like how Cybersecurity deals on the cyberspace plane.
