My name is Chase Lawson, I am 42 years old and I am from Galax, VA.  I currently work as a IT Help Desk Technician and I am currently enrolled the cybersecurity program at Old Dominion University.  I transferred to Old Dominion as junior having two associates degrees from both New River Community College and Wytheville Community College.  I am working with a Community Service Board that offers a broad range of services ranging from substance abuse to Intellectual Development Services.  I have been with this board going on five years and it’s been one of the best jobs that I had.  When I was young I always had an interest in computers especially gaming.  I got introduced to computers when I was in the fifth grade the computer was an apple II and it was really interesting to see a computer for the first time.  That is what sparked my interest in computing.  I always like working in DOS with Microsoft.  At that time to play a game directories had to be changed and syntax had to be input and I always loved doing that.  2020 is the time that I had built my first computer and it gave me a sense of accomplishment.  Through trial and error and with a little help from others I can recall my excitement when I turned it on for the first time.  I have several different hobbies, which to be honest the hobbies I have are kind of expensive.  I love to play golf and I love going to various conventions and meeting people, getting celebrity autographs.    I hope to further my career with a Bachelor’s from Old Dominion and I am excited to see where that goes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
