Hello there! I’m Chase Dickerson, a freshman, at Old Dominion University belonging to the class of 2027. Technology and cybersecurity are my passions, which I’ve been able to explore through experiences and coursework.
During my time in school I had the opportunity to participate in Newport News Public Schools Career Pathways STEM Internship. It was an experience where I built two custom computers and even assembled a laptop from scratch. Additionally I was fortunate enough to be part of the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars Program through NASA. These experiences sparked my interest in technology. Fueled my desire to pursue a cybersecurity degree.
At ODU I’m actively engaged in campus life. Notb only am I a student representative for both the Mayors Youth Commission in Newport News and the S.A.G.E program on campus, but I’m also proud to be a member of the Key Club and have recently joined the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
In my time giving back to my community brings me joy. Volunteering with organizations like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, The Links Incorporated among others has been incredibly fulfilling for me. Serving others is something that truly resonates with me on a level.
As I continue with my coursework in cybersecurity at ODU I am thrilled about acquiring skills that will propel me towards future career success. My ultimate goal is to work within the realm of cybersecurity once I graduate from ODU. This website will serve as a documentation of my journey and growth, within this field!
