Assignment Takeaway Four

In this assignment I learned that according to this test my partner and I have low scores. I believe that this is because, we have been together for such a long time. This affects the answers that may come up on the test. I have taken test like this before and they also have unexpected results. I took personality test that were based on the same outline on how to answer the questions. I believe that this is because, test like this does not consider situational basis. The test made me feel bad about my relationship at first, but then I looked at it more like a game rather than a definition of my marriage.

I chose this image because, I believe that in any romantic relationship, there has to be a mixture of emotional love and physical attraction.

Assignment Takeaway Three

In this assignment I learned that people sometimes say things that can really impact the view that people have of them. I learned that it is important to know what is the human thing to say, not the right thing to say because no one is perfect.  This made me remember about a time that I made a joke around people that barely knew me, the joke was not too offensive but these people did not know me that well. So after the joke they just looked at me. If I would of made the joke around people that knew me they would have laughed because, they know it was just a joke and I have no judgement behind it. Sometimes, it is not just about what you say but also who you say it around. A joke can cause someones reputation.

I chose this picture because, parrots repeat everything without thinking what is right or wrong to say. All they do is repeat what they hear. If their owners are racist so will the parrot.

Assignment Takeaway Two

In this assignment takeaway I learned that pictures mean a lot. Pictures are the only thing that we have other than memory to reflect back on something. This exercise made me think that sometimes when I refuse to take a picture I should because pictures is one of the only things that will help us remember something that happened. I also learned about myself, that my favorite pictures are off guard, and those are the best pictures because they are very in the moment.

I chose this because, it is important to live in the present and even though we have so many memories through photos it is also important to live in the present, so take some off guard pictures in the present so that in the future you can look back on the past.

Assignment Takeaway one

This assignment was useful to me because until completing it I did not know what heuristics were. I learned about four different types of heuristics which are representativeness, availability, anchoring and adjustment and status quo heuristics. I was able to learn the difference between all of the heuristics mentioned above. Most importantly I learned what heuristics are which is learning something on your own, it is a way of thinking. I learned that the heuristics that I use the most is availability heuristics, because I am constantly thinking about outcomes that are going to happen when I am going to make a decision. For example, at my job any time that I have to be physical with one of the patients I think about the outcomes. The outcomes not just for me but for them as well. I have to think about what is going to happen if they punch me while I am trying to de-escalate the situation. I usually tend to think more on the negative side, but lately I have been trying to be more positive and rather think of a positive outcome such as a successful verbal de-escalation without the need of a restraint or physical contact. This is similar to doing a reflection. In reflections we think about the actions that we took or the summary of a situation in heuristics we do a reflection prior to the situation that helps us decide our decisions.

I chose this image because, I believe it is a good representation of what our mind does when we are trying to figure out a situation. Our minds usually think about the consequences to our decisions and this is a good representation of outcomes.
