Assignment Takeaway #5
For this assignment we were asked to pick a country that we would either like to visit or have visited. We were then asked to find a peer-reviewed article that related to a chapter of our choice. I chose the country of Africa and the article “COVID-19 Pandemic Worsening Gender Inequalities for Women and Girls in Sub-Saharan Africa”. I find this assignment to be very challenging because of the time it took me to find an article. I was struggling to find an article that wasn’t written in the 1900s and was more relevant to our time.
I’m able to apply this assignment to my own life as I too faced challenges during Covid-19 along with many others in the world. The women in Africa faced many struggles during Covid-19 especially due to Covid-19. Women in Africa were being denied schooling and were required to stay home. This was the case for many individuals in America too but it wasn’t based on gender like in Africa. It was based on who still had a job in the family as many people were being laid off or furloughed.
