Top 3 things I have learned throughout the semester:
- NEO Personality test– I enjoyed learning about myself and personality
- Self Determination Theory– I enjoyed learning about how I satisfy my needs academically through autonomy, competence, and relatedness.
- Fairy Tales- I love watching disney movies and I enjoyed looking at them in a different perspective and how they impact young audiences.
Connections between a blog post and another assignment:
I choose to compare the connection between the fairytale blog post and AT4. Assignment 4 was to look at advertisements in North America and in another country of our choosing. We were asked to write about how genders were represented in the images. This was very similar to analyzing the fairytale films in blog post 7. I found this to be similar because genders, especially women in older fairytale films represent poor stereotypes which is what I found in most of our advertisements. For example, sleeping beauty being a damsel in distress and in the advertisements men were dominant over women.
Connection between blog post and another class:
I choose to compare the connection between the Neo personality test to my health psychology course. In module 4 in psych 306 we were asked to look at our stress within our daily lives. I think this gave me a better understanding of this personality course because I have already had to look at my factors in my life and reflect on them through my personality.
