The American Red Cross subtopic discusses the beginnings of the Red Cross, who founded it and how, and also how it was beneficial to the Civil War&nbsp; Anesthesia during the Civil War addresses the most commonly used anesthetic, administration of the anesthetics, and the discovery of Nitrous Oxide. &nbsp;Subtopic 3 covers African Americans in Medicine.
