Introduction

    I created this portfolio to display the tasks that I completed when I did an evaluation of the H.E.R Shelter. I chose the H.E.R shelter because I wanted to learn more about this agency’s mission and goals. I wanted to see if the agency is giving their all to women coming from abusive relationships and if there is anything that they could do to improve their purpose. Women should never feel that they are stuck in an abusive relationship with no where to go. The H.E.R shelter is a place where women can start a new chapter in their life as well as their children.  During my observation I noticed that the shelter is more than a shelter, its created to look and feel like a home. It has a living room, kitchen, laundry room, etc. to make these women feel comfortable and safe. After evaluating this agency, I feel that it such a relief that there are people out there willing to help these women take back their life and strength.
