For the first article regarding Tom, the man behind the LinkedIn data scraping I would rate this a 3.I rated this article a three as it seems That Tom does get a kick out of data scraping as this was not his first time. But he also did this for recognition and for money. As the article says he also was selling off the data he collected and boasting about what he did online. For the political motive article, I would also give it a two as the many groups all their motives are political base, I would also add that it was for bringing recognition to their movement as many of the groups would use social media. For the article on revenge porn, I would give it a five as in the article it states while many revenge porn cases are due to ex-partners for other cases the motive is to troll or some having no known motive. The rating I would give the cyberbullying and child grooming article I would rate it four while boredom might be playing a role in children giving their information to strangers online, but I would also add curiosity is also playing a role as many of the children are curious on what will happen. The same can be said about the second art of the on cyberbullying as boredom could be a motive. I would add just wanting to troll or for entertainment can also be a motive. The article on 22-year-old Niblock DDOS attack on a Labour Party candidate website motive listed as recognition I would give a one. Even though Niblock’s attack was towards a political party I do not think Niblock had any political motives and was done 100 percent for recognition as Niblock used this attack to receive likes on twitter. I would rate the article about how much cybercriminals make a two as the motives behind commenting the crime is for income there are also motivated for fame and or recognition and deviant behavior. The article “What Drives Hackers to a Life of Cybercrime?” I would rate one has this article is going over the many reasons why cybercriminal would commit the crimes they do.
