The media can paint a lager than life feeling and perception towards cybersecurity and the whole cyberspace. It may paint a sense of it being cool with people wearing hoods and sunglasses, masks, or other things like it. I don’t think that the ways the media often portrays cybersecurity is destructive or that bad, because it inspires people to learn more about it. It doesn’t spread destructive misinformation. I think that the media, if they wanted to, could portray it more accurately by doing more studies as to what cybersecurity really is. But the purpose of media is usually to entertain, so portraying cybersecurity as over dramatic isn’t destructive and could be beneficial as it can inspire people to pursue a career in cybersecurity.
