First would be seen with ethical neutrality as the authors
remain neutral and not remain biased on the side of the victims or bullies. Next would be
objectivity and the authors must only look at the facts and not let their perspective of the
pandemic or thoughts on bullying interfere with their research. Finally, there is determinism
which the authors must rely on this slightly as the effects of the pandemic could have caused
some of these people to become cyberbullies.
The study’s research questions or hypotheses;
The study’s research questions and hypotheses include the following, “: Cyberbullying
victimization has increased during the COVID-19 pandemic”(Neuhaeusler, N. S. (2024)) Which
can highlight how possibly the number of people being cyberbullied has increased. “Social
media usage is positively associated with cyberbullying victimization (both before and during the
pandemic).”(Neuhaeusler, N. S. (2024)) This hypothesis shows how there is a chance that social
media is associated with cyberbullying before and after the pandemic “: Perceived social
isolation is positively associated with cyberbullying victimization (both before and during the
pandemic).”(Neuhaeusler, N. S. (2024)) This hypothesis highlights the fact that those who feel
socially isolated could also potentially be victims to cyberbullying.

Chris kundrat
3/27/2024
Describe the types of research methods used
The types of research methods used included, surveys as within the article there was a sample
size of 119 people and asked multiple choice questions such as “ (a) Been made fun of online,
(b) Had something posted about you online that you did not want others to see, (c) Received a
message that made fun of you, and (d) Had something posted about you online that made you
upset. Each participant responded to the statements using a 5-point Likert scale from (1) never to
(5) every day” (Neuhaeusler, N. S. (2024))
Describe the types of data and analysis done;
There are multiple types of data and analysis within this article. First, explain the
variables as the types of data. First is the dependent variable is the cyberbullying victimization
experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. This variable depends on other factors, it is
measured using a scale that assesses the extent of cyberbullying experiences during the
pandemic, with questions adapted from Hinduja and Patchin’s questionnaire. Higher values on
this scale indicate more frequent cyberbullying experiences. The independent variables are the
factors the study predicts will influence the dependent variable. Some examples of this include
social media usage, social isolation alongside cyberbullying experiences before the pandemic.
The types of analysis done on this data include bivariate statistics, to analyze the two variables
simultaneously, simple linear regression as to understand the relationship between the single
individual variable, a dependent variable, and multiple linear regression.

Chris kundrat
3/27/2024
concepts from the PowerPoint presentations relate to the
article;
Some concepts from the PowerPoint presentations that relate to the article include, the risk of
offending as those who struggle with aggression or low self-control are those at high risk for
cyber bullying.
how the topic relates to the challenges, concerns and
contributions of marginalized groups; and
This topic relates to the challenges of marginalized groups as they are more likely to
become victims of cyber bullying.
Describe the overall contributions of the studies to
society.
This article contributes a lot to society. It shows how the effects of COVID weren’t just physical,
but that people were affected mentally either from being bullied or becoming a bully because of
the lockdown onto society.

Chris kundrat
3/27/2024

Chris kundrat
3/27/2024

Chris kundrat
3/27/2024
sources cited
Neuhaeusler, N.
