Capture Campus

The second event I attended was the Climate for Health Ambassador Training where ODU nursing students discussed how we can make an impact towards climate change and what it is like to be a nursing student. At the end of their presentation, they answered questions about the nursing program and about their college experience in general which I found helpful and encouraging.

During the Community Oral Health Event, I learned that dental hygienists educate patients about oral hygiene and provide preventative care whereas dentists provide care for patients when a problem has already occurred. Up until this point I didn’t think the dentist did anything based on my personal experience. Every time I went to the dentist all they did was briefly look at my teeth and leave.

I attended Madison’s study group where I did homework and received advice about changing my major and contacting my advisor.

The last event I attended was the Sociology Zoo trip. During the trip, Professor Lopez asked us to apply sociology theories to different zoo animals to help us prepare for our theory quiz. This was my favorite event because I had not been to the zoo in a long time and enjoyed seeing and interacting with the animals.
