During my junior and senior years of high school, I was selected to participate in the Virginia Beach City Public School&#8217;s Mental Health Task Force. The goal was to discuss the barriers and potential solutions to providing mental health care to students and faculty in our community. I was honored to contribute to the task force as one of few students amongst several administrators and healthcare professionals. I was able to provide valuable feedback from a student&#8217;s perspective and made many recommendations for change. I believe I was able to effectively communicate and articulate the specific mental health challenges and needs of students in our community.
