An eye for an eye.

Money: In terms of cybercrime, It is fairly easy to make money, plus there is a low chance of receiving punishment/getting caught.

Political: Many people feel that society/government is failing to either tell the truth and protect their citizens, so many join hacktivist groups to expose the wrongdoings of organizations, society, and governments

Recognition: It makes sense in a way that perhaps some feel abandoned or not involved in society. So committing something like a cybercrime can bring some attention to feel wanted.

Entertainment : There is a feeling of power when successfully committing a cybercrime, and people feel an adrenaline rush.

Boredom: I put this in the same grade as the entertainment motive.

Multiple reasons: There could be other motives besides the top six mentioned in this ranking.
