I’ve practiced scanning networks, writing reports, and learning how attackers think. These projects helped me apply what I learned and gave me a better understanding of how systems can be protected in real life.

Network Security Analysis Project

For this assignment, I scanned a fake network using tools like Nmap and Wireshark. I had to find open ports and list possible security risks. After that, I created a report showing what was wrong and how to fix it with firewall settings. It helped me learn how to explain technical problems clearly.

Kali Linux Ethical Hacking Lab

This lab gave me my first real taste of ethical hacking. I used Kali Linux to try out different scanning and password testing tools. It showed me how important it is to find weaknesses before an attacker does, and I started understanding how penetration testing works.

Firewall Rules Configuration Assignment

We were given a scenario where we had to write firewall rules to allow or block traffic. I learned how just one small mistake like leaving the wrong port open could lead to a serious threat. It showed me why careful rule setting is such a big deal in cybersecurity.

Technical Problem-Solving

Description:
Technology doesn’t always work perfectly, and I enjoy figuring out what went wrong and how to fix it. Whether it’s during class labs or in a real job setting, I’ve had to stay calm and think clearly to solve problems and keep things running smoothly.

Cisco Packet Tracer Lab

In this lab, I used Cisco Packet Tracer to build a small network. I set up routers, switches, and PCs, gave them IP addresses, and tested if they could talk to each other. It was a hands on way to learn how networks are built and how devices connect.

Amazon Problem-Solving Experience

While working at Amazon, I ran into issues almost every day from broken scanners to inventory errors. I figured out solutions fast and helped others on my team do the same. That job helped sharpen my ability to think quickly and fix problems under pressure.

Windows Command Line & Scripting Lab

This was a simple but useful lab. I wrote a batch script to move and organize files using command line tools. It wasn’t hard, but it showed me how little things like scripts can save time and help manage systems more efficiently.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

Description:
Being part of a team and sometimes leading it has taught me a lot about responsibility and communication. I’ve worked with people from different backgrounds, helped train others, and made sure tasks were done right and on time.

Lead Banquet Houseman Role

At the Delta Marriott, I led a team that set up events for hundreds of guests. I had to assign jobs, solve last minute problems, and make sure everything was ready before events started. It taught me how to lead under pressure and stay organized.

Team Training Experience

Part of my job included showing new staff how to use gear safely and follow hotel rules. I took the time to explain things clearly and help them feel comfortable on the team. That experience made me better at communicating and giving instructions.

Cybersecurity Group Project

For one of our group assignments, we researched phishing attacks and built a slideshow together. I handled part of the research and helped design the presentation. It was a good reminder of how important teamwork is, especially when working on complex topics.

Cybersecurity Knowledge Description:Through my classes at ODU, I’ve built a solid foundation in cybersecurity.
