Journal 1-NICE Workforce Framework

What is the NICE Workforce Framework?
The NICE Workforce Framework is a guideline of resources garnered to help develop a highly efficient cybersecurity workforce. The document stabilizes proper knowledge, processes, and skills used to help develop and maintain certain areas of a cybersecurity workforce. When it comes to the NICE Workforce Framework, certain areas I would focus my career on would be based on level of impact and importance.

Category I Would Specialize in
From reviewing the NICE Workforce Framework, I can determine that the category I would mostly focus on is Operate and Maintain. I believe that this is an important category because when cybersecurity workforces are properly operated, the risk factors within the other categories (i.e security provision, protect and defend) would be insignificantly low since systems are correctly developed and properly run. When systems are efficiently maintained, such as having strong authentication systems, frequently changed security passwords, and updating networks and software systems, the risk of a cybersecurity casualty is lower than organizations who have a weak operating system. Within the Operate and Maintain category, system analyses are already taking place, therefore I believe that the analysis category would not be as important as the other categories. Although the analysis category is extremely important, other categories already have these such systems in place as well, especially the operate and maintain category. The operation and maintenance category also has its own sense of management and government to help keep systems properly maintained and operated.
