Chesapeake Medical Reserve Corps- Volunteer lead since 2019.
As a Community Impact Coordinator I have the opportunity to manage the grant process. In implementing leadership skills in my job role I have the privilege of interviewing local nonprofit organizations that request to receive grant funding through my job. I serve as the main point of contact for the grant RFP in which I speak with executive directors, program managers and person(s) leading the organization. Being an MPH student has contributed to my success in this role because it allows me to understand the importance of Program Planning and Evaluation (MPH 661). With my job role, I will assess each program that was interviewed and work with my team to export grant awards. As the Social Determinants of Health model is a crucial competent to this process as a Public health student my goal is to make sure that each program addresses Public health by using this model.
