How has cyber technology created opportunities for workplace deviance?

Cyber technology has created opportunities for workplace deviance because employees have access to the inside and create an easier way to cause deviance when nobody is thinking to look at you to cause deviance in the workplace. There are rules in restrictions in the workplace to try and alleviate these problems and risks in the workplace. There are many ways to cause workplace deviance using cyber technology. Passwords are crucial in the workplace because they can be breached and used to access private and valuable information that can be used in a negative fashion. The person with the password has access to introduce harm into the system and put in a hidden virus and malfunction the system from within. Individuals can accidentally cause harm to the workplace by not being aware of their actions. This can happen when updating software for your computers. Somebody can accidentally download a virus that spreads to the computer and destroys the system or have information leaked because of this. Another way this can happen is when an individual in the workplace is the misuse of the computer. Workers can explore the internet using their work computer which can cause problems if clicking on the wrong browser and allowing hackers to create an opening into your network or system. The workplace usually has vital information stored in their storage which can be used to make profit if their is a criminal among the organization. There could be a situation where information is sold to criminals through workers. An example of this could be sharing medical records from a hospital to somebody for financial gains they get for social security numbers and even health policies to create fraud and use identity theft to gain money from all of these records being leaked. Cyber technology must be used appropriately to keep workplace deviance from happening.
