The fundamentals of science can be applied to all known things. For example, the very basic scientific method can be applied to all testable variations in experiments. This is even more of the case because in the digital age we do not need to physically conduct these experiments ourselves. We have simulations which do not tell us the entire picture, but it definitely gives us a better one than before. These concepts can be applied to applications in cyber security as well. A simple scan on a personal computer will conduct all the necessary steps in the scientific method in a diagnosis test to tell you what is wrong, and what can be done to improve it. There are professions that bridge the gap between the two fields. Data science is a scientific approach to identify hostile hackers on digital infrastructures. So, these different fields can coincide together to create a better cybersecurity environment for everyone. There are thousands of other examples how the two are related. Many of them are joint field tasks that pull from both but there are a few that do not. The results are typically better when two fields work with each other to have a more rounded resolution and recover.
