“Thoughts…;become actions”- Lao Tzu
I felt that this meme collected the general understanding of social thought, as it shows a funny way of how actions can be manipulated by an individuals thought process. This meme is often used to express an inner thought exampli gratia: Hermit (without the hood) “I should go write the weekly blog for Muth’s class”, Hermit (with the hood) “just sleep, you’ve been working all week.”

Review course objectives and describe how they will help me? I am not sure if this question meant how the course objectives would help me or how the course literature would help me but: The syllabus course outline helps me understand what I will be learning as it is intended to do. I am most interested in the course objective of understanding why we form closer relationships to some rather than others — platonic and intimate relationships have always puzzled me. Due to the rising American revolution and second renascence, I am intrigued about this entire course, I think it could be especially interesting during this part of history.
What are my expectations of this course? I don’t have many expectations of this course because social psychology is a new concept to me. I’m not sure what social psychology is beyond the basic “it’s about why we do stuff around others.” So am I pretty open and ready for this.
What am I hoping to gain? Knowledge؟ I’m not sure how to answer that. Why else would I be in college؟ On a more serious note, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of social psychology in hopes that it will pave way for a more critical and astute understanding of adolescent psychology.
What strategies do I intend to implement to ensure my success in this course? I had intended to request a PDF version of the textbook so that I could print out the chapters and read them (because I have a TBI and it hurts to read on a screen after a while) but I have yet to do this— mostly out of sheer shyness. I also plan to work less so that I can focus on my schoolwork, because it is currently greatly effecting my sleep and homework schedule. I usually plan out homework and larger assignments a week or two ahead of time while doing the easier assignments such as blogs, discussion posts, et cetera a few weeks ahead of time— as one can see, I have not had time to do this.
