About Me
My current career background is in the field of Pharmacy. I began taking classes at ODU for Mechanical Engineering because I have always had a passion for creating solutions and designing. My goal is to meld my almost decade of experience in Pharmacy with my newfound Engineering knowledge to design clean rooms. While this fluid mechanics course focuses on liquids specifically, many of the topics covered correlate directly with gaseous fluids as well. Air flow, pressure differentials, and air filtration are the key components in the design of clean rooms. In this course we cover pressure calculations, volumetric flow rate calculations, as well as an in depth semester long project involving designing fluid systems. Even if the subject matter of the course doesn’t directly relate to my future career, the improvement of my skill to take theoretical knowledge and apply that to practical situations will be invaluable.
