1.      How does your major relate to cybersecurity technology?

My major is cybersecurity, cybersecurity is the generic term for technologies and processes designed to protect network equipment, software and data from unauthorized access, attack and damage.
As the world becomes more and more connected, network equipment, software and data are increasingly susceptible to security breaches. Previously, the protection of such equipment, software and data was the sole responsibility of the IT teams. However, as devices are added and more and more operational technologies take over computer networks, the attack surface becomes more and more difficult to control and monitor. The attack surface is a point of vulnerability, such as a port, device, or software interface, from which an unauthorized user can attempt to access or extract data from a network. The IT and operational technology teams must come together to assess the previously ignored risk areas.
