Assignment Takeaway 5
Assignment 5 was titled “Pay it Forward”. For this assignment we had to write about doing 5 random acts of kindness and reflect on our feelings and provide our opinion on why we did what we did. In the assignment I wrote about a specific act of kindness where I surprised one of my closest friends with a customized pillow of a picture with her and her father because her father recently passed away. The reason why I did that was because she was really distraught and upset and usually I would be there for her but we attend different schools in different states, so this was me supporting her from a distance. It was bittersweet when I did the act of kindness because although it was a nice gesture and my close friend knows that she has support from her friend, her father is no longer with us. This assignment could be a lesson throughout life. Once you doing something nice for a person maybe they’ll return the favor to you or someone else. Paying it forward.
Assignment Takeaway 4
In assignment 4 we had to take a questionnaire about Love. So far, this assignment has been ne of the fun ones. You get to learn a lot about yourself in 42 questions. I learned that there were essentially seven types of love. I also learned that your results are about you and your ideals against your gender’s.

Assignment Takeaway 3
In Assignment 3 we had to watch a video about a comedian, named Michael Richards, going on.a racial tirade because a Black man interrupted his comedy set. I learned that although we’re in the 21st century, racism and discrimination is still alive and well. If you are not Black then you should not be saying the n-word. I can also relate this assignment to my Introduction to Human Communication class because we’re being taught on how people handle situations different. Race and gender tends to play a big part on why the situation turned the way it did.
Assignment Takeaway 2
In Assignment 2 we had to conduct a photo album of 6-12 pictures of us and reflect and describe ourselves as it relates to “The Self”. I learned about self-presentation and self-concept. During this activity, I learned about how I perceive myself and how it affects my photos. All the emotions I was carrying in those events to where I took the picture showed through the photo. The photo below is one of the pictures I chose to be apart of my collection.
