Initial Submission:
For the evaluation, I will be working with TAP (Total Action for Progress). TAP works with lower income families in the Roanoke Valley and surrounding areas. They provide a variety of services that range from daycare to job placement. The evaluation will be aimed toward staff and participants. I will be conducting both interviews and surveys for the evaluation. The survey will be used to get a better understanding of the overall satisfaction of TAP. I will also give surveys to participants that want to remain anonymous. Specifically, I will be evaluating the Head Start program. My evaluation will determine if TAP is meeting the expectations of parents.
Interview Questions:
STAFF:
- What demographics do the children come from?
- What are their family dynamics?
- How are most families referred to you?
- Do you feel like there is anything that could be changed with the curriculum?
- Are there additional resources/programs that TAP can offer families?
- Are parents active in their child’s learning experience?
- Do you think you are making an impact on the child’s life, and why?
PARTICIPANTS (PARENTS):
- How would you describe your child(s) development since starting TAP?
- Has there been a significant change in their behavior?
- Would you recommend TAP to others and why?
- Does TAP meet your expectations? If No, why?
- How were you referred to TAP?
- Do you participate in any other programs offered through TAP?
- Do you participate in at home educational activities with your child?
SURVEY:
The survey will be answered on a scale of 1-5, with 1 meaning not likely and 5 meaning highly likely. The survey will be given to individuals that cannot participate in the interview or want to remain anonymous.
- Would you recommend TAP to other parents?
- Is TAP meeting your overall expectations?
- Do you feel like TAP is setting your child up for success?
- TAP is a non-judgmental program?
- Would you use TAP in the future?
- Is the staff at TAP approachable?
- Are you satisfied with the staff’s qualifications?
