After watching the video, write a journal entry about how you think the media influences our understanding about cybersecurity.

I think that the media does partially well to aid the societal understanding of cybersecurity. As shown in the video, due to Hollywood theatrics, there may be instances where some scenes in movies are exaggerated or not thoroughly written or portrayed to real-life events. Integrating cybersecurity in the media helps society be aware of the threats that exists and provides a somewhat realistic view of the ongoing war on information security. Though, I feel that some of the overly exaggerated scenes from media overstimulate people’s minds causing unnecessary fear and anxiety. Screenwriters, producers, and directors must do their due diligence to present cybersecurity as realistically as possible to avoid causing unnecessary harm.
