To be frank, I cannot say that I am a bad student nor say that I am a great student. I believe this because as I have moved up in the education system from high school to the present I have slacked off with the effort that I put into my courses. In high school, I was very motivated until my senior year, and it showed in my coursework. My courses got harder to understand, and it was very discouraging. This discouragement and the highs and lows of my self-efficacy has followed me since. There are some courses that I do extremely well in and some that I have done horrible in compared to what my record was in my early teen years. That being said, the amount of effort I put in depends on how interested I am in the course. My interest in the course contributes to my motivation for doing well in the course. My motivation depends on the subject of course and how curious or interested I am in that subject. More often that not, my confidence level as a student is very low. Lower than I would prefer, and that disappoints me. I want to do well and I plan on doing well, but there are times I feel very discouraged and overwhelmed Consequently, this affects my school work more often than I would prefer. My confidence level would increase with a boost to my GPA from a 2.41 to a 3.0 or higher. In order to get there, I have to find away to get over my discouragement with putting more effort and time into all of my courses instead of just the ones I am extremely interested in. I believe this also shows in the results of my self-efficacy test. My belief in my ability is 82.5 percent out of 100 percent; however, my ability to grow is 96 percent. My overall confidence in myself as a student is 87.7 percent. I think this shows in my completed task accomplishments in this course. I am very interested in psychology; thus, my confidence level in this course is pretty high because I put most of my effort in this course. As mentioned before my effort is related to my motivation. Consequently, I have completed all of my assignments so far, and I believe that I did a good job on them. Hopefully this will show in my graded assignments, assignment takeaways, and blog posts.
